My Dining Room Dreaming...

I am thinking that leopard wallpaper would be fine to look at, live with, on a small wall in my dining room area. I want my dining room room fancy. Black chandelier, red chemise gold swirly pattern drapes and the leopard wall. Might go 2/3 wallpaper with crown moulding or full wall. First I was thinking of a stripe pattern, light gold background with thin red and black stripes.

I am totally loving crown mouldings. That whole French interior thing, ou la la.

Random Shit

1. Judi Dench = good candidate for a female wizard

2. Downtown Detroit is a ghost town.
True story:
Several years back on a vacation to the motherland, I requested a tour through downtown Detroit. I love big cities and that whole skyscraper thing - grand, majestic, powerful, good kickin' energy. However, Detroit was not at home, empty buildings, blocks of empty buildings. Houses and buildings partially torn down, with hot pink and orange walls as art, abandoned. A.K.A. Ghost Town baby. From my mental photo, I can clearly see now what I witnessed that day, an empty block of boarded up forgotten skyscrapers and store fronts, with a single remaining enterprise still taking care of business - Fifi's Wig Hut. It was wood panels nailed over windows with a hand painted sign in black. It was awesome. Fifi was still fighting for Detroit, doing her bit to beautify it one wig at a time. (I love that story.)

3. Contacting companies about bad products or service.
Do you? Or do you suck it up? I have been known to send an evil email or letter from time to time as my hackles warrant. I just sent one to a previously great Mexican restaurant which I had a bad food experience with, food not up to par, Saturday night dinner disappointment. :(

4. Goats have rectangle pupils, it's weird.

5. As far as standard, store bought, candy bars go, Reese's peanut butter cups and Snickers are top on my list.

6. Are business cards dead? Are podcasts or facebook, the new business cards?

7. If you did something and no one you know would ever know that you did it, what would you do? We self-edit because of this or that. Hopefully your edits are not too many. Be free. Let your freak flag fly.

A Good Day

I had a good day.
I gave two presentations, Life Collage - Focus On You

1. Set a goal.
2. Make a plan to reach your goal.
3. Take the first step.
4. Keep going.
5. Success!

I had the chill relaxing, chakra balancing music going, a PowerPoint of goals (education, family, house, cycling group, cooking class, volunteering, big piles of money, Japan, Paris, Greenland, kids, airplane, scooter, puppy, weight loss, home remodeling, hugging a panda...), magazines, paper, glue sticks, markers, and scissors.

We talked about goals first then went into the collage making, then I held up each collage and had the person tell us about it.

It was fun.
Everyone's collage was unique.
We had giant posters, philosophers, greeting cards on different topics, dreams, ideas, goals, and plenty of self-expression.
My participants were all happy and had fun, focused on themselves, socialized, learned things about each other, relaxed, felt safe to share and went skipping off into the sunset.

It was a good day. I feel happy.

Fashion - Your Self-Expression Wrapper

Fashion excites me.
Love the collision of colors.
Moved by the textures puzzled together.
Enlightened with the flavors of black.
Your style as prologos*.

*The Greek prologos includes the modern meaning of prologue, but is of wider significance, embracing any kind of preface.

Please Hold Handrail...

...the UFO's are coming.

Rumor has it that October 14, 2008 is the day when the aliens make themselves known to us!!! Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! You ready? Got your tin foil outfit together? Moon boots in tow? Light wave transmitter? ESP engaged at full volume? Hooked into ET, the Mothership Connection, Firefly, and Uranus?

What if they come? It will change how we think, live, forever. Cool!

What if they are bad and mean and want to eat us?

What if they are awesome, smart, funny, and filled with love for us?

Keep your head to the skies. Sweet Dreams.

"The river has its destination"

Hopi Prophecy:
Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, "This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate."

I love that thought!

You focus to database this experience to resume later as a mental/spiritual rescue on a hot, racing, "holding handrail" day. You latch to this time, here, now, and store it - sight, sound, feel, sensation.

Fancy + Style + Culture

I dig fancy!
The sensual delight and special thrill of it.
Precious, refined items, style, yes style!
Brocades, lames, pearls, gold scrolls, ornate, details, black, wine, cocktails, travel, adventure, music, moldings, sequins, fine crafted leathers, lush velvets, silks so fine you can not feel them when you touch them, dark wood, intriguing color combination, fine china, hand etched crystal, placement, design, furniture, art, sensitive cheese plates, movement, facets, swirls of fabric, moods, museums, affairs, a cup of coffee, words, chandeliers, a life with fancy as companion internal and external...
Fancy couples with culture.
Ya with me?
